Experiencing the death of a loved one is a very painful ordeal. It is one of the greatest stresses we can ever go through. For many years, we have been searching to understand what happens when this type of tragedy befalls a person. Perinatal loss is no different than any other type of bereavement; the person experiencing it feels misunderstood and alone. Written with passion and conviction, Words from the Heart seeks to help families affected by the loss of a child. The testimonies within are those of parents who have experienced the loss of their child-to-be. They were written by women and men who understand your pain, sorrow and dismay, whether your loss occurred at week five, twenty or forty. The topic is concretely addressed by two authors, along with a few collaborators, and is complemented by some forty moving testimonies. The book also includes a section for couples affected by infertility and failed in vitro fertilization treatments. Loved ones of the bereaved will also find communication tools in this book and, through testimonies, begin to better understand what these parents are going through. This work has been published to provide parents suffering from perinatal loss with exactly what they need: helpful resources.
