À propos des auteurs
Wells, H.G.
Herbert George Wells; (21 September 1866 – 13 August 1946) was an English writer. Prolific in many genres, he wrote dozens of novels, short stories, and works of social commentary, history, satire, biography and autobiography. His work also included two books on recreational war games. Wells is now best remembered for his science fiction novels and is often called the "father of science fiction", along with Jules Verne and the publisher Hugo Gernsback.
Tolstoy, Leo
Count Lev Nikolayevich Tolstoy (9 September [28 August] 1828 – 20. November 1910), usually referred to in English as Leo Tolstoy, was a Russian writer who is regarded as one of the greatest authors of all time.[2] He received multiple nominations for Nobel Prize in Literature every year from 1902 to 1906, and nominations for Nobel Peace Prize in 1901, 1902 and 1910, and his miss of the prize is a major Nobel prize controversy. Crane, Stephen
Stephen Crane was an American writer and journalist whose brief life left an outsized mark on modern literature. Born in 1871 in New Jersey, he came of age in a rapidly changing United States and began publishing remarkably early, moving between newspapers, magazines, and fiction with unusual confidence. Though he died at only twenty-eight, his career was astonishingly productive: he helped reshape American realism with its blunt, unsentimental attention to experience, and his war writing, frontier stories, and poems all revealed a daring new artistic voice. His poetry, including the collection often associated with his name, is striking for its compressed language, ironic edge, and searching vision of human frailty. Across his work, Crane returned again and again to themes of chance, fear, loneliness, courage, and the indifferent power of nature and society, making his writing feel startlingly modern. Readers today still find in him a clear-eyed refusal to romanticize suffering, along with a deep empathy for ordinary people struggling to make meaning in an uncertain world. His influence can be felt in later realism, naturalism, and modernist writing, and his legacy endures because he understood how fragile and resilient human beings can be at once. Those who enjoy intense, psychologically acute, and beautifully spare writing will find Stephen Crane especially rewarding.
Kipling, Rudyard
