Dane Kozak was an enforcer for eleven seasons and is now unemployable everywhere except one place: an assistant job with a women's professional team who cannot afford to be choosy. Annika Roy has carried that franchise for four years on a salary he used to spend on cars, and she does not need another retired man explaining her own game to her. What neither of them says, for an entire season, is the thing they both already know — and would not act on while he holds a whistle.
